For those of you (the many I bet) that didn't follow my skimmer build thread. The reaction chamber is 17 inches in diameter, the riser tube is 7.5 inches across, its over all hieght is 53 inches, the collection cup holds 4 gallons and the skimmer itself holds 40 gallons . Its a recirc design with a bubble plate run by a reeflow orca and (for the 40 cube) is fed by a mag2.

The main thing is a piece of 1/4 inch ABS cut for the top of the tank for cross braces. I already know who is going to do it I just need the loot to do it first. I also need a return pump. I have a mag 12 but wanted to get something a little smaller that is a presure pump. Maybe a velocity T3 or a T1. Other than that I just need to finish plumbing the pumps and drains and fill it with water. Oh I need to cut 3 more pieces of glass for the sump. I have the glass just need to cut it. After that I need to get the cash to build the canopy and trim out the stand. Not really worried about that stuff just yet because it will be a while before I can fill more than 2 feet of it to need more than one MH over it.

Uh... Build thread must have been on another forum.
Just look up reeflow orca on the reeflow site. It tells all.
Long story short I rolled flat sheets of acrylic into cylinders. I actually have another cylinder that will add 2 feet to the reaction chamber making the total skimmer height 77 inches tall. I just need to get an alita 40 air pump mod kit for the recirc pump. I made a template to drill holes in the ends of it and bolted the ends together in a cylinder. Bonded it together with weldon 16 and bonded a ring made out of 1/4 inch acrylic to each end. I made a frustrum for the collet reducer to the riser tube and formed it the same way.
Its a little more complicated then that but like I said that's the short of the long.

Well I really wanted to set this up because people always say zoos need dirtier water, low to medium light and low to medium flow. I figured a BB 40 gallon with a 400 watt halide on it running for 9 hours a day and a skimmer that is good for a 3000 gallon tank would break all the rules for Zoo propigation but their growing like weeds.

Also, there was no cycle time and the stocking was made almost entirly in one day.
On top of that the only thing I have tested for ever on this system is temp and salinity.
