4 - 4.5 K GPH pumps?

Looking for recomendations for external pumps to drive a flow rate of 4-4.5 K GPH. Total maximu lift will be about 6 feet. This is for a prop system I'm setting up and want to be able to expand it later. 150 gallons of tanks and a 70 gallon sump currently.

Dolphin ampmasters. They have some larger flow pumps in the range you're looking for. They have pumps that can do this at 15 feet of head as well (as in basement sump to 1st floor display applications.) You will need to use schedule 40 pvc with as few bends as possible in the 2 to 3 inch diameter sizes for adequate delivery without significant flow losses.

Just curious, what is your application?

Morning Brad,

We have a Little Giant 4000gph pump in our basement. It is inside a 135g tank that is the sump for our 240g in the dining room. It has 2'' schedule 40 overflow and return. The return is ''T''d into 4 ea 1'' lines. I would increase this to 1 1/2'' next time though.

Now I know the old saying, " You get what you pay for". But we bought this in 1998. It has run 24/7 since. It is one of the non oil filled versions. (very important).

Good luck with your project!

Just a note; your pump will do better if you allow as much straight run time as possible in the plumbing before you T if off or run it through an elbow.

Have fun!
