37 tall needs an upgrade

Ok here is what I have, 1- 150 watt coralife hqi with xm 10k and 2- 39 watt t-5 vho on an icecap 430 ballast. Would it be benificial or over kill to upgrade the same coralife metal halide fixture to a 250 watt with a new ballast? Any advice would be nice. Thanks Jberd

Yes and no. I have a clam at the bottom and it has grown over a 1/2 inch in about a 1 and a half, softies grow like crazy but I have a couple lps and sps at the top and they seem to grow slow, and also have a bubble tip that when purchaced 20 months ago now looks like a long tentacle but he has split and both are doing very well. Not knowing what the growth rates should be it is hard to tell how my tank is doing.

I think if I were to upgrade I would probably wait till I upgraded the tank too. Your light seems to be fine to keep what your keeping,.. so if your going to go bigger may as well do it all at once

Thanks guys. So I will keep what I have until march when I get my 90. As for flow I think I have a lot. Two koralia pumps with a t-1 for my chiller and a aquaclear 70 filter and a cpr skimmer that has a mj1200, what do you think.
