300G on hold
Put the plans for a 300 on hold for now. Having trouble getting it built on here, as it needs to be built on site, at a reasonable price of course.
Better off anyways, as I wont have any desires to add that tang, Horge
As I would like to keep lots of room for my sps, I have moved most sotfy,s to the 55 gal. sump. It has a deep sandbed & is lit with a 175 watt 43K halide. Any rock that had a polyp of any kind was moved. All thats left is my large star polyp colony, [seperated from main reef], other colonys growing on tank walls, both yellows & green, a couple of seperated mushroom colonys and of course, the clowns home bubble coral.
I have removed my Euroreef again, and will see how the growth & tank progress, with mainly the two large sandbeds doing the filtering. I also have lots of sponge growth, etc.
This will show several things. I will watch any sps reaction from the soft corals, galleon. Will see how the sps growth compares in my system compared with others. I even have a large monipora digita colony in the sump, under the 175 watt 43K bulb.

Perhaps, I will after the other 50 million projects around here, , build that sunroom, and stick a big honker tank in there, with lots of natural sunlight.

Aren't you glad you're retired Doug, so you have all that spare time on your hands?

I love the time and retirement part Alice, its the $$$$$$$$$$, that one recieves when retired early, that limits projects, Guess I need to go pump gas to build the sunroom with the big tank.

Troy, its still in the rec room wall, doing fine. Just wanted bigger. My soft corals are getting to large for the 170, plus all the new sps frags, I have added.
Besides the ones I purchased, I cleaned out all the rubble from my lfs friend, last winter. Very small pieces of many kinds of sps frags. Dont even know what some of them are yet.
I was going to add a 70G sps tank, but put that on hold when thinking of the large one.

Doug,
I was thinking (had cake for lunch) would it be possible for you to assemble the tank yourself? Have you thought about having a tank manf. cut the pieces for you, ship them to you, and you put it together? It's not really that hard to do.
