thanks guys, we got a couple of peices of fully cured rock from the LFS to seed his aquarium. it has some great coraline, and it is pretty established. it was never out of water for more than a second so i doubt it will cause a cycle.
as for the rest of the rock, we are gonna use some dry rock that we plan to cook up and see if we cant get some phosphates to show up in the water column, if its good and clean after a couple of weeks.....were gonna toss it in.

for now the canister polished the water up great, and we may cycle the tank soon. will the above mentioned dry rock cause a cycle after the cooking process? or will it be cycled because of the cooking process?
