30 gal protein skimmer

I personally don't have any experience with this skimmer. Maybe you can start a post asking people who do have experience, what they think.

Hi Casey,

I've got a 29, and I use Bak Pak 2R on mine, though I replaced the Rio power head with a Maxi Jet 1200.

I've also heard that the Remora is a good one too.

My vote is for the Bac Pac also

I have had both the cpr bak pak and remora. I would say if cost is a issue go with the bakpak, if not the remora. I do like the cpr better if you add supplements because you can turn down the screw on the air valve to just have flow with no air bubbles. The remora has no adjustment at all so if you add anything you will need to turn off the skimmer for a day. This has been my experience and hope it will help you make a decision

I have the remora Pro on the back of my 90 and it is awesome. The Remora with the MaxiJet 1200 will be more than enough for your tank.

I picked up one off of eBay with the miracle mud for a steal and I am going to set it up on a 42 bowfront that I am going to setup in my office. I have heard a lot of people bad mouth the mud but I have fellow reefer here in my area using it and his results are phenomenal. Here is the link.
