260 watts over a 20 long

i have a chance to get a great deal on a 260watt pc setup, i plan on putting it over my 20 long that is only 12inches deep,do you think i will be able to keep clams and hard corals with this much light?

you should have the light covered.

keeping the chemistry constant in a 20 will be your main battle. if you can get auto top-off going so the salinity stays constant then i say go for it. for clams and SPS cosistancy in water quality is important.

That would be a lot of PC bulbs to replace....but that sounds like a lot of light to me

Unless it is a really good deal, like free I would probably hold out for a de hqi fixture. It will pay for itself in bulb costs alone and you will for sure have enough light for whatever you want.
