2003 TRT picnic......time to pick a date!
In our last poll, the Atlanta area won out for the location for next years picnic.
I think its time to start thinking about a date for the picnic..as well as an exact location. I was thinking about having the picnic in June.
What kind of activities would you like to see? How about a guest speaker?
It takes time to put these things together, so if we can pick a date soon, that would help.
Thoughts, comments? Volunteers for hosts?

Ok....who down in Atlanta has a pool? LOL When is the humidity the lowest in Atlanta?
For me, September is better. Kids are back in school so no worrying about trying to organize their daily activities and airfare is lower in September. However, I can't promise that I'll be able to make the trip and I know we were also trying to set the date so it would not be too close to MACNA. Is MACNA in Sept. this next year? I've forgotten.
Well, however it turns out, I've got the TRT banner and I think Stang69 still has the road sign

RickO has a pool hehe ....June is a good month for lower heat....Just don't pick July or August.
If we can choose a date soon, maybe we can get a guest speaker lined up in conjuction with the Atlanta Reef Club. Would be great for everyone.
MACNA is Spetmeber 5-7 next year in Louisville, KY. I will definitely be attending that, since I did not get a chance to go to this years MACNA.

my .02 cents...Steve goes back to school 8/13 or so...so it would be hard to do for us beyond 8/3 or so...

And a guest speaker would be GREAT! Or a demonstration or some plumbing/etc ...sort of almost hands-on, or "eyes on".

Hopefully we'll be playing baseball in June and most of July. So naturally I'm voting for August. Besides the pool will be warmer and the beer colder in Aug.

We will most likely be able to make it if it is held in June. Danielle will start school on the 1st of July. August will be too close to MACNA for us.

For those on a tight budget -- Just a thought
Atlanta is a really cheap airfare from most major airports as long as proper advance notice is given.
Also ther are alot of reefers in Atlanta. SOme would probably be willing to host a couple for the weekend so you wouldn't have any hotel or rental car costs.
I will be the first to volunteer to host a couple for the weekend.
Doesn't really mater what weekend. I don't live exactlly in Atlanta but will pick you up from the airport and shuttle you around as needed. Heck it would be fun for my wife and I too.
We could also setup a tour of tanks and LFS's and maybe even som area attractions depending on how long you stay for.
If anybody is interested PM or e-mail me.

Wow! A Tour! That would be so awesome! (Better than a tour of homes, you know, like in historic districts)
I think that would be super!
As for your offer of hospitality, I think that's a great idea, too!
Thanks for throwing these ideas out, Charles!
