Well, I'm by no means an expert in lighting so I'd have to see the test results before I could determine if 4x24 watt T5s would be stronger than 2x65 watt PCs. I'm pretty new to reefing myself though so I'd take Fat Tony's advice if I were you. He knows his stuff. Best of luck with your tank!

It's all about the reflectors. It's not that the bulbs themselves are brighter (a PC bulb is essentially just a T5 bulb in a U shape) it just that the reflectors they use (T5's) are very efficient and allow more of the light from the bulb to make it to the tank.
