2 strange things happening inmy tank
Hi Everyone
there are a cpl of things going on in my tank.
1. I think my new torch is dieing! It seems to have just melted. When I bought it Sat one of the columns was empty and one of the other columns looked kinda melted. The salesman sold him to me for 15 bucks and it sold for 60. Maybe it was already deign when I bought it? My calc is 500 . The frogspwn, candycane and clam are all doing fine!
2. My yellow tang is acting strange! He spends most of his day swimming in one spot in the tank. It almost seems like he is trying to scrape something off the glass or fight with his reflection. He doesn't seem sick he eats really well. He has no outwardly sing of illness.
Other than that every thing is fine.
Should I remove the dieing torch?
Should I call a Therapist for my tang?
Thanks Patrick

it sounds like the torch was already dieing. i do not think that there is any you could have done differently.
as for the Tang, i would not worry about it as long as it is eating a varied diet it should be fine.

Make sure that Nori (the dried algae stuff) is in the Tang's diet, mine go all skitzo if I dont feed them that for a while, found this out one year when I went on vacation but only showed the fish sitter how to feed flake.
On the torch, I agree, I think it was on it's way out already, just leave it alone and see what happens is my vote.

Sounds to me like the torch was a bad bet, the LFS was willing to let it go for only $15. Probably not worth taking it back. On the tang, they can be skitzy sometimes, just be sure he's eating....they are pretty hardy!
You're doing fine - -

Thanks everyone! I'm feeding he tang formula 2 (3x a week) cyclopeez maybe once a week and I hang that Nori in the tank 2x a week. He eats like crazy. Yeah I should have know something was up with torch when it was so cheep. The good new is the frogspawn is twice the size it was yesterday! The clam also seems very happy I put him up on a rock as sugested and I think he has moved a little so prob attaching himself.
Once again thanks for all the great advise!

Might be good to give the tang a small bit of nori each day. They are grazers adn think they need the greens more often than twice a week.

sounds like you got all the advice you need, so i just thought id tell you, fish cant see their reflections, i dont think so anyway, i believe is more of an invisible barrier, than another fish.
