2 Days!!!

Got the 100# of Marshall Island coming in, the tank is salted. The Hydrometer is curing in the tank...it tastes salty, but I want to measure it.

The skimmer is in the sump running (to break it in for 2 days)

I have to borrow 2 power heads from a friend cause mine are still in the mail...I will be curing the rock in the tank and not using the sump while it is curing.

Now I have to run out and buy a few containers to rinse the rock and hold the extra water.

Hopefully in 2-3 weeks (the time premiumaqutics says it takes) I can add the first fish and some invertebrates (to finish cleaning the rock)

cool... So when is your rock due to arrive?

And dont forget them pictures too.. I was really impressed with the Marshall rock from Premium Aquatics. It had no smell at all to it. I was really surprised. Very nice shapes and coralline growth.

sounds like fun
what does hydrometer curing in the tank mean?

yes, you will want some extra buckets to rinse the rocks in

The LFS I bought it from said it has to cure (basically just sit in it for 6 hrs) in SW to work properly.

Actually, on the package of this Hydrometer it says to fill it with SW and let sit for awhile (cant remember how long, but I thought that it was longer).

I had two of these before I realized that they were junk. One read 1.019, the other was reading 1.022 and when I bought a refractometer it read 1.025. Just be careful and if you have a LFS that has a Refracto then you can have them see what your salinity is and compare it to your Hydro.
