180 from glasscages
I have been looking at tanks from glass cages. I have decided the one I want is the 180 72x24x25. On one of the pictures of their tanks the built in overflow has two holes drilled in the bottom of the tank. Is this normal or is one hole sufficient?
They charge 25 dollars a hole and 25-35 for the overflow I think.
Should I just go ahead and have them drill holes for the cls as well? Or do they drill holes only for the overflow?

BE VERY CATIOUS!!!! There are some horror stories about glass cages. I haved heard they are horrible to deal with. One person here in Kansas had a tank specially made, and they did it completely wrong and would not do anything to remedy the situation. here check out this post on a Kansas city board

I have heard some really bad things about Glass Cages, but I have heard some people say they could not be more happy.
I would ALWAYS get 2 holes, and size each to take the full flow of your overflow. That way if one gets plugged by a snail or something, then the other can take the load and you don't have a flood.
You could have them drill the closed loop, but I would rather go over the top for a closed loop because that way if you don't like it or its position you can change it.

So I need 4 holes drilled. Is there another manufacturers web site I can look at to compare with glass cages. How many people have bad dealings with glass cages?

I haven't heard anything good or bad about Glass Cages, but here are two others you can try:
www.miraclesaquariums.com
www.aquariumsforyou.com
Good luck! BTW, have four holes drilled!

What I liked about glasscages is that they would deliver to a city near me and I would have easy access to pick it up. Do these other places do that as well?

Yeah, they're pricey but they custom build bee-yoo-ti-ful stuff!
Besides, they've gotta pay for that excellent website!

Everyone I know that has delt with only has good things to say.
Their customer service is a little rough around the edges but a fair price for the deal.

The other web sites I have seen are out of the question price wise. I will either find a used one to my satisfaction or go with glass cages. Thanks for the replies.

I can only say that they sell alot of tanks and the neg reports I have heard is on the way they get sloppy with the silicone, But not the tanks itselt. But then they are cheaper.

Personally, i will never deal with them. I will not support companies that don't fix the things they screw up
