150 clearing up!

Well, its been a few weeks and the diatom and algae of the new tank syndrome has cleared up! Ive got the skimmer dialed in and making some nice foam everything is running well. The chiller is hoilding at 79 and the auto top off goes through about 10 gallons a week. I still havent built the new canopy for the MH but with the possible move for the new job (still not inked, waiting for the DM to get back this week) Im kinda hessitant since its all going to be built in with a wet room when we get a new house. Plus I havent added coral since I still have to get more rock. All the readings are as follows
Nitrite-0
Nitrate-0
Ammonia-0
PH-8.2
Salinity-1.024
Alk-2.9
Everything is on hold as far as addding the 29g fuge and such. Just need to see where were going if we are even going to move. So right now just keeping it running. The cleaning has been simple as the flow works great to suspend the poop and the MR-2 blasts the stuff outa the water by the chunk!
Although it looks a little barren with anly a little rock in it, Im happy with the set up and how it all functions. Just itching to get more rock and start getting the SPS going!!!!!!!

Pumps are great! The Barracuda makes hardly any noise at all, its not silent but the Gen-X pumps each make more noise individualy. Each pump is sitting on an extra thick mouse pad cut in half and doubled up. This took all the reverberating vibration out of the system! All in all this set up is much quieter thasn the 55 was. It of course makes some noise but its mostly just the noise of the pump motors and not bad at all. I installed a fan in the stand that took the internal temp from around 90 down to 79! Just one fan! Im going to add one more in time.
Being able to shut off the top returns of the CLS and direct all the water to the spraybar has proven to be a nice little accesory in getting any little bits out from under the rock although with the power and direction of the sump returns and the normal output of the spraybar there realy isnt much that collects anywhere,

The sump is doing great but I think Im going to build another one and plumb the skimmer different to make it a little more efficient and kinda like an indirect recirculating set up. The tank drains in to the first chamber then spills into the skimmer chamber now. The next one will have the skimmer pump and skimmer return both plumbed into the first chamber. The tank overflow is less than the volume of the skimmer pumps so it would recirculate come of the skimmer water as the skimmer would return back to the first chamber.

Thanks Dan! Yeah, it is an outstanding skimmer. Once I do get more rock and start running coral, Im going to add a second injector. Took me a bit of fiddling to get it dialed the way I want but man does it ever work great, probably the best investment Ive made for the tank.
