Question

125 gallon + dead Clown tang=???

I'm just trying to figure out how much damage a 3" deceased clown tang would affect a 125 gallon. I can't find him, he was alive last night but looking poorly, guessing he's dead now. How much do you think that will affect an established tank, with 175 lb LR, Emperor 400, and a skimmer?

Hi WAGZ.

Hopefully he's just hiding and will show up soon. But! Do you have any crabs or shrimp in your tank? If so, most likely they will take care of the remains.

Hey Rick, pretty sure he's went to the big blue ocean in the sky, and yes, I have about 25 reef hermits, and 40 or 50 snails. Hoping they take care of everything keeping the ammo from spiking 2 high. Thanks Rick

I have two cleaner shrimp whose sole purpose is to take care of dead snails. They do a pretty good job of it. What they don't eat my Sally Lightfoot crab does.

Expect a slight algae bloom if it died. Unfortunatly that is a common fate for clown tangs, they arent the hardiest
