125 gal build

No i am not doing a build off. I am moving mine way to slow for the build off.

I just thought that I would share with you guys what i have done so far.

The tank is not done yet so there are a few things that are going to be put in and taken out before it's all said and done with.

--- first pic is the initial framing

--- second pic is of the paneling that i used

--- third is of the doors open, and no that is not the light that is going to stay there. it's just temperary.

--- fourth is of the back side

--- fifth is of the side panel that i can remove to get access of the back side of the tank, and yes this is the tank that had a crack in the glass. I did sandwich the glass between two other pains of glass and that is what you see in the top right back corner of the tank. And i know i didn't do the best job of putting the silicone between the pieces of glass. I'm still a newbie to this large tank stuff.

--- sixth is of the 55 gal tank as my sump.

--- seventh is of the drains, 2 inch draines that is

As you can see the tank is holding water and it has been holding water for about three months now. only one leak in one of the drains but that is fixed now.

Looks great!!! Good work I like that area in the back, what do you plan to use it for?

Do you plan to stain the stand? Or are you going to paint it?

I really like that moulding on the corners of the tank too,.. gives it a real compleated look. I planned to do that 2 years ago with my 180, and still haven't

the corners where the glass is at aren't really done yet i am going to put some of the striped molding from top to bottom on the corners. The area in the back is mostly to hide the pipes and make the stand look like it's all the way against the wall. And yes I am plaining on staining the stand a "bombay mohogany". Thats the same color stain that i used on my 125 FW.

This tank is far from being done though. I plan on making this stand as ornate as possible. with like crown molding and stuff.

Looks great to me. Once you have rock in the tank and coralline takes hold of the back glass you probably won't even notice the repair job.

Keep up the good work, and keep taking your time.

Finished with the stand and canopy

Now time to instal everything into the stand and canopy. Now the two shelfs have been taken out. they are not permenent. The light is just a regular shop light that is a temp light.

Looks great make sure to prime and paint the interior wood. I sure wish I would have put a bottom in mine instead of just setting my sump on the carpet.
