Yet another RODI question, well, water pressure question...
Alright, last time I was running a RODI system here the pressure seemed really low, I was thinking this time when I buy a new setup about getting a pump to go along with it.
Any info I should know about this? or isn't it worth it?
I'm not on city, I am on well water.

I will also add, I am going to try an ebay system this time around, I also plan on using the RO for drinking so this will be a great setup... (if it works and doesn't crack)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...7047&rd=1&rd=1
So maybe I don't want to run too much pressure through this?

I just set up the same system and it works great. I've got 140ppm TDS in and 0ppm TDS out. My water pressure is at 60psi. I think if I added a buster pump I would get better GPD but I'm getting 75gpd as it is.

Maybe I'll run the unit by itself, and if I need more pressure I'll add on later.
gogregerson - Any problems at all? how long have you had it? I would assume most filters will work with this correct?

So far no problems, it's been up and running for two weeks. The filters are standard sizes

I started with a very similar unit. Thoughts of what to change. Get a vertical DI, don't just stand the horizontal on vertical. [ EDIT ( When you order Specify the 75gpd filmtec membrane. You Don't want the 100gpd. the 75 is 98%, the 100 is 90% = less di needed to get to 0.) not sure about the ge membrane.. ]
dual tds meter is nice. pressure guage is helpful to watch filter efficiency.
Price wise with the drinking water it cant be beat.

By the time you account for the inferior filters ( high micron, lower quality ) that they come with, your not saving any money vs. going with the filter guys where he can build, install high quality filters and membrane and will give you much better service. Well water can be tricky and if not chosen correctly you can wreck the membrane in short amount of time.
If you insist on using Ebay, make absolute sure they are using Dow Filmtec membranes. If it comes with a membrane less than 98% rejection then the unit is actually going to cost your more to run in DI replacement costs. For the above example where someone mentioned 140 TDS well water, at 90% rejection should be about 14 TDS, at 98% will be 2.8 TDS. So DI will last 5 times longer with the better quality membrane and will easily save you more money in operating cost. While there are deals to be had, most times in RO filters, you do get what you pay for.

I'm not stuck on the ebay guys, and I actually would be willing to look into the filterguys more.
I also checked my pressure where I will be taping into, and I'm at only 35psi....(and it flexs a lot as well, so +/- 10psi as well...) Thats a bit off from 60psi, so I may need a helper pump as well... I will send the filterguys a email and start talking with them about whats best to run on what I have going on here.
Thanks for all the tips guys!
