WTB lights

I have a 55 gal tank, and need lights for it. Does anyone have any for sale that will work with my tank, or does anyone have any suggestions on what tyoe of bulbs, wattage, etc. I should use. I was thinking about getting a 48" high compact 260 watt light, it has 4- 65 watt bulbs, 2 daylight 12k and 2 true 03 actinic. I don't know if this would be good enough, or If I should get a couple ballast's to go along with it, or if I should get something with a higher wattage or what.

Need a whole lot more details to even attempt to figure out what type of lighting you need.

smeesus - first things first. What do you want to keep in the tank?

Ok...... I am going to start off with a fish only tank until I get the hang of it and then start in with the coral/softies. Hmmmm...... what else do you need to know?

I have a 72 with the same fixture (48"coralife 260 watt pc) and I also added a 36" coralife pc 192 watts to it. So I have 452 watts. You will be fine with the 48" light on a 55 as long as you stay with softies and some lps.
