WTB: Copperband Butterfly

In about a month I'd like to take one. Where can I find 'em?

What size tank ? I personally don't recommend anything smaller than a 180g with plenty of live food. They like to constantly roam around looking for food. Also, I wouldn't keep with other fish like mandarins that also like live food.

I did quarantine mine with several weeks and trained it to each frozen right from the pipette. However, once in the show tank, it hasn't touch frozen since so you need to be prepared and go in with the expectation that it won't eat frozen, if it does end up doing so then consider it a bonus.

I definately woundn't purchase until after your move.............

My CBB liked to eat frozen MYSIS shrimp. But like David mentioned, he always swam around pecking at the rocks.

I should mention tho that I had a CBB as well as a Mandarin in my 220. They didn't seem to compete for food. Or there was plenty to go around. They were both healthy and doing we.. No signs of starvation or getting thin.

my 2 cents anyway

I needed one to control the aiptasia in my 100g. I tried 2 that did not live longer then 2 days. As a last try I got one from JnS a couple months ago and he is doing great. Any fan worms in my tank were gone in the first day or so. Since then he does spend a lot of time pecking at the rocks and he comes out to eat any frozen food that lands on the rocks. There is still some aiptaisa in the tank, but it is no longer taking over. I never see him eat one, but before I got him the stuff was growing on everything.

I keep both a copperband and a mandarin in our 150 gallon. Have had the mandarin for over two years, and the copperband for almost one year. The copperband will eat frozen mysis, frozen brine and frozen bloodworms--but from what I have read, I think we hit it lucky as many mandarins and CBBs won't eat frozen.

Jerry, I'll talk to you when the time comes. Move is in 20some days.
Dave, its a well-fed 120 with only one other pod hunter, a Sixline.
Soltaker, Ben , Karen; good news.
