WTB: Aquacontroller Jr. or Reefkeeper

Just wondering if anyone out there has one for sale. Can't hurt to ask.

Here is a brand new one on ebay for what I think is a reasonable price.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ReefKeeper-Digit...QQcmdZViewItem

I would get this if I was closer to being ready for one.

for us current RK users it is a little hard to justify, since the cost of a PH monitor/controller runs about $105 new and the upgraded unit costs $50 more plus the cost of the probe ~$40-$80. If you sell your RK and buy the new one it will be about even or paying out a little extra to do it. Just thought I would break it down.

You can get a new RK from Digital Aquatics shipped for $219. So his Buy It Now price of $229 plus shipping seems high when you can get one direct from the manufacturer with full warranty for less.

I was thinking that when the new RK2 start shipping later this month there might be some more used RKs for sale for those that want the new features.

I personally am looking into the aquacontroller because of the ability to program it yourself. I did find that I ebay also and the guy said he would give quantity discounts.

That's certainly a big plus and the fact that regardless what system your running or how many circuits you need, it will be tough to outgrow the Aquacontroller. Initial costs for the unit and the powerstrip modules though the price can get up there quick but isn't necessarily money wasted IMO if you in this hobby to stay.

I might be interested in a group buy at a decent discount.

Here is the one on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=7737857882

It is the aquacontroller jr with the pH and temp probe for $302.49 with shippign running around $15. I doesn't come with the DC8. That is an additional $186.

I talked to the seller and he said he would give us $10 off if we order four. I think if we have a real number of people that are interested, we can negotiate a much better deal.

*** Edit ** This doesn't appear to be that great of a price

I am trying to understand what some of the different measurements are and how valuable they are to me. I would appreciate someone's input

1. ORP
2. Conductivity
3. Dissolved Oxygen

Right now the Aquacontroller Pro and the Aquacontroller III are the exact same price and the above features are some of the major diffs. The other differences are battery backup and connectivity options, as well as screen size.

Thanks

I have an ACI (yes, the original), that I would sell for cheap once I can get my mits on an ACIII. I wanted to go with the ACII, but they are hard to come by. Also, that ACIII has some web features so I could "check in" from virtually anywhere. I would sell the unit for cheap, but it probably wouldn't include some of the X10 units you'd need ( I may have some extra that I'd sell for cheap). Wags, if interested, I'll give you first dibs, unless Chad (mnreefgeek) really wants it.

not a good price for the jr and strip
http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewIt...product=NS1163 + $44 or so for the probe. $310 and it includes the dc8 and probe. I thought 250 was the new price point with the dc8, might be for no backlight though.

Hope it helps.
