Why the AQIII versus the AQPro, they have the same suggest retail price and seem to be very similar?

I would sell the unit for cheap, but it probably wouldn't include some of the X10 units you'd need ( I may have some extra that I'd sell for cheap). Wags, if interested, I'll give you first dibs, unless Chad (mnreefgeek) really wants it.

I'll let Chad take it if he wants. I don't want to deal with the X10s even though I have no idea why. I will probably pick up an AC Jr. or an RK2 in the next few weeks. Just cashed my "bonus" check and am itching to buy something. I was also thinking about a Tunze 6000.

Derek, I just saw a ACII go up for sale on the reefcentral site this morning. I don't know if it was a good price or not. He was asking $390 for it and several modules to go with it.

Just an FYI - Premium Aquatics is running a group buy for Reef Central members on Aquacontroller Jrs w/backlight and on the AquaController III PRO w/backlight and ethernet.

Wags--got a link?
I'm fairly certain I'm going to get the ACIII (not the pro). I already have all the modules (and probably have more than I'll need), so I'm just looking to obtain a base unit.

I think that is what I will be getting too. I could get away with less, but want the internet options of the ACIII

Dwight, shall we try for a "group buy"?
I agree with the internet options, hence I'm going with the ACIII vs the Pro model. Not sure what more you get with the AC3Pro to justify spending another few hundred dollars.
Think we could get any others on board? It's $409 at PA.

I am all for a group buy. I will also need the various probes too.
I know that Marine Depot has them for a little more, but has free shipping. We should do some comparison shopping and see how we fair.
Count me in on a group buy, even though I don't know how to make one happen.

I found the post in their sponsor forum on RC. They have the ACIII Pro for a good price, but it's still $250 more than the ACIII.

I think the Pro version is way more than I need, even if it is only $250 more. The four areas that are different are not areas that I think I will ever need.
I am going to stick with the ACIII base and the needed probes.

Me too. I'll let you know when I'm done shopping, and what I've come up with. Send me a pm when you're done as well.
Thanks.

Sounds like a plan.
Do you need any probes? That may make the pricing a little better.
