WTB a Turbo Twister "Toypedo" pool toy

Anyone seen these at any stores lately? I thought I'd find one this weekend, but all the places I tried had cleared out all the pool toys weeks ago to make room for all the back-to-school crap. (bah!)

I actually only need the back cage & prop, so maybe someone's kid has a broken one lying around???? I'm looking to use it for a DIY maxijet Tunze mod.

Let me know if you have one or have seen them in the past few days.

TIA

I can't take credit for it. Someone over on RC came up with it.

Wanted to try it myself, but I gotta find the darn things first. You'd think that retailers would want to sell water toys during the hottest months of the MN summer, but I guess not. They are already plotting a way to get xmas stuff out before Halloween

Walmart doesn't carry them. I was bidding on some proppellers and the creator of this mod using that toy contacted me about getting some props from me since they didn't need 4 and I didn't. Then they shared their thing about this. So I checked Wal-Mart and Target, no go, we don't have a Wal-Greens but I found some on Ebay last night.

I just bought 1 to try.

I called the place by me, apparently they only have the "non-turbo" model. Just like the supra, I need the turbo. I am considering buying a couple from toys r us.

Been there, done that. I've gotten props already, and constructed a model 1.0, but was looking for these puppies for V2.0 model.

The tough part about this mod is the little propeller cage. I tried doing this mod with a PVC coupler with holes drilled in it for water inflow. It sort of works, but there's a couple problems with it IME:

1- It's kinda ugly looking
2- It's hard to center the prop shaft exactly so that it doesn't rub on the housing wall
3- It's also hard to maximize the water flow by just drilling lots of wholes in the coupler, whereas this prop cage protects from snails but allows max water flow.

I think I may have to order a couple from amazon/toysRus. I was just hoping somone may have seen them locally and not had to pay to ship them, since I had previously seen them lots of places (as shown by reefmyster's list) and couldn't any more. Now, if we could only get a case of them since it sounds like there's others interested in this mod as well now.

Just pay for the shipping, that way you know your going to get it and when all said and done and it works fine, you have a cheap Tunze style power head. If you don't pay shipping and go to the store, you have to pay for gas to driving to get it bot ways and sales tax so it about evens out.
