i love the open top like that. no bracing at all i wonder how thick the galss need to be for a tank like that? even the overflows are hard to see in there. very nice set up.

This is an excellent example as to why having a deep tank owns. You just can't get that kind of effect when trying to aquascape with even a 30"W tank. The drill and rod method can be used to make some really interesting aquascapes, but this is truely beautiful.
OOOh and his coral growth is outstanding!

Wonder how much it would cost him to replace all 26 bulbs? Looks like 7 MH, 9 t5, 5 pc, 5 incandescent, and 1 halogen.
Check out how he spelled halogen in the lighting diagram.

from what I have read those style MH bulbs are twice as efficent as the standard style bulbs we use. There was a thread on RC awhile back where Sanjay was talking about them.

Carmen- I read the same thing. Seems like some companies are starting to move towards these type of lighting set-ups. At least I've seen a few in the new 2006 wholesale catologs....
