Worst day ever :(
So I get home today and the controller is stuck wide open on the QT tank, tank is at 85-86 degrees. This makes for a pretty darn bad day. Then I go to feed the fishies. The rabbit is looking good, a few spots of possible ich on him but he is eating and very active, so I am not too worried. I now move over to feed the lps/softy/fish quarantine tank. My beautifull powder blue tang, who I have had for 2 weeks now has developed some white spots as well. On top of that he has some white on his face, almost like the color is fading. Could this be lateral line disease? I figure, oh well, this is why we quarantine...
Then about 10 minutes ago I am talking to Dustin on the phone and I hear a series of pops, followed by the smell of burning plastic. I hang up, run over to the lps tank, and here some more pops. So I go outside, shut down the circuit, unplug everything, and then start plugging things in one at a time. My fricking return pump burnt up......arrrgghhhh.
 anything else today????

Oh no! Do you need any help with anything?
I don't think the PB has HLLE. I would get him in a hopital tank though. Do you have spare tank to do this?

M and D, if you need a hospital tank LMK, I've got a couple 33 longs that are not in use for another month. If bad things happen in threes you're good to go.

May I ask what type of return pump blew ? Always like to learn from others to avoid happening to more.
Bummer the heater stuck, always 20/20 hindsight when you know you shouldn't rely on them. When I first read I was nervous that you were talking about the controller you bought from me fairly recently.

Mary my tank has hit high 86 and stuff was fine. The worst thing you can do then is cool it down too fast. I hope all goes well for your powder blue. A good one of those is far and few between.

David the return pump was a hyperflow. Nothing in the 40 is any the worse for wear, it just popped and siezed up, so at least it didn't pollute the water. Mike and Barry I do not have a hospital tank to put it in. My hospital tank is in use as a sps QT right now. To be honest with you I dont know where I would put an extra tank right now, but I may have to take one of you up on it. We will see how he fares today, if he is too sick it probably wont help anything to move him.

Update:
40 is fine, going to borrow a return pump from spazz for a couple days (thanks scott!). QT tank is back down to 80 which is good. I put new carbon in, did a 15 gallon water change, and it si still pretty darn cloudy, and rtn is prevelant. This sucks, but at least my lps tank is ok, and my 220 is ok, ok as in there were no major malfunctions with that tank yesterday. Thank god.

Mary is the PB eating? If so i would just feed him really well and go from there. The move can and probably willl kill him as I have found in the past anyways.
