I think that either Al (new reef retard) or myself could do that. I would have to find my camcorder though, so maybe someone should ask Al.

Really ought to ask Eric how he feels about being videotaped first. It would not be proper to videotape his talk unless he says its OK.

In answer to the initial question, I think I'd have to say I've been a little too excited....it is surprising how many things I have had to take care of at this end to prepare for this (making sure room arrangements are correct, checking on parking and getting signs for the lots lined, up, etc).

The biggest challenge though has simply been to get a heavily-used lab ready for visitors. And then there is a LOT of deferred maintenance on my tanks that I've been tackling (but will not be all completed).

The lab is in pretty good shape now though. All cleaned up (so safe to eat in there now!) with fresh clean plastic tablecloths to make pizza comsumption a more pleasant and wholesome experience after the talk on Saturday!

The main tanks in that room are now in much better shape, and the other tanks by the window are less embarrassing now!

Now that I've made good progress on all of this, I can say that I am also excited (in a good way) about the 2-day event.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the turnout will be. The lack of response to the tank tour is interesting. I hope people don't put out too much food. According to the response there won't be many people at the talks or the tank tour. If people are going, you would think they'd let the hosts know.

I don't really know the guy...actually I didn't know Dr. Ron either, but I'm really excited to have him come! I think this is really cool that our club is hosting someone who's pretty well known in our hobby. I've also heard that he's really a super nice guy, so I would expect a pretty big turnout.

You are absolutely correct. I keep meaning to read that thread and reply. I'll try to figure this out tonight and reply.

Right now I've got to go haul some more stuff out of the lab!

Yes, I'm surprised by the lack of people in our club who've expressed interest in going on the tank tours. It'll be great to talk with Eric on a more intimate basis, and to have him see some great, not to mention different from one another's, tanks.
