White patch on Acro

Ok so about a month ago I noticed a white patch on my Acro. This is when I was having some tank problems and got a little lazy with maintence because I was going to upgrade soon.
So my question is this white patch is no longer there but the tissue is gone at that spot and it is totally browned out and looks dead. Is this going to effect the rest of the coral or is it done and I should be back on the way back up now?

It depends on whether or not the condition(s) that caused it to happen in the first place are gone. If so, there's a good chance the Acro won't be damaged any more and might even regrow over the dead spot (I've seen this happen a handful of times). If the problem is still around, there's trouble. Is the dead spot getting any larger? I agree pics might help.

Conditions are gone and the white patch is totally gone and is a dead patch instead. Tank is a BB now and in much better condition as I am taking better care of it now as it is now in the larger tank and the up grade is complete. The condition I beleive to cause it was Hyper salinity. If this could cause it then I have this figured out(i hope). I wasn't topping off much at the time because my Hydrometer was broken so I am sure my salinity was bouncing all over the place.
I will not be able to try and post a pic for a couple days or so.

It the condition is not get worse and water parameters are good enough that hair doesn't start growing on the dead spot then there is a good chance it will spread back over the dead spot over time. However, once hair algae takes hold on the spot you have little chance of it regrowing over the spot......
