Question

What to feed pink skunk clowns and how often.

I have finally added a few fish to my tank after waiting patiently for 3+ months. We added two pink skunk clown fish and I have a few questions.

I feed my corals and inverts frozen mysis shrimp and cyclopeze about once a week, sometimes twice.

1. Do I need to add another food type for the clowns?
2. Do I need to feed them more often?

Thanks

The clowns will eat both, though I'd feed them a bit more frequently - once/day.

Feed them what you feed the rest of the tank. I only feed my tank once a week.

If tank is mature once a day. May want scale back to once every couple of days if need to break in the system some or having water quality issues.

Mysis IME would be a fine choice. In addition though I would soak the food overnight in the fridge with some vitamins and selcon ( or off brand equivlant ) alternating between the two to give a extra boost of nutrition.

I agree with David. Anytime you change feeding schedules you should watch your water quality. I alternate feeding mysis soaked in selcon on one day, followed by cyclopeze the next. I have no water quality issues.

Selcon is one of those things where I'm not so certain you should buy it if the bottle has dust on it. I can't image that the animo acids and vitamins are stable to stay on the shelf for long periods of time, unless there's a bunch of preservatives. You should be able to find Selcon at most of the LFS or save a couple $$ and buy online.

I use the Kent version I think it is called Zoecon. Usually get it mail order. I am sure there are other off brand versions. I know OD carries it, probably most others that carry Kent products if you looking locally.

qRE: Mysis = I use the stuff rihanssu mentions and get it from OD.
