What to do What to do....Any advice appreciated

I noticed in my 125 I have gotten into a bug situation.....NOT acro eating flatworms as I do not have an acro in the tank (or any for that matter since they were accidentally mutated into bare skeletons earlier in the week )but rather some little bugs that cruise the glass. For their size I guess they are quick and a whitish color. About the size of a fine tip dot from one of those mechanical pencils. Are these a flatworm or are flatworms not fast moving~

I've never seen a fast flatworm. I'm guessing a population explosion of some sort of harmless creature. I've had them over the years from time to time and never had issues. Hard to tell by the description, but I would think it's not a problem.

Oh man.......tough break. Sounds like you have the dreaded white bugs. A mutation of the red bugs that will eat anything and everything including the silicone on your tank...............

Just kidding.

I found out that I had the same thing after I set up my tank. I didnt even know I had them until I bought a few chromies for the tank. They were always pecking at the glass....then I realized they were eating something...little white dots. I thought they were baby snails??? They took care of them in no time.

Most of these sorts of critters are not something that need to be taken care of, but rather something to be enjoyed. This sort of cool, exuberant diversity is what reef tanks are all about. It is what makes them so cool.

If they are moving in a rapid start and stop motion, they could well be copepods. If they are sort of walking rather than darting around, and if they have obvious legs in abundance, they might be tiny isopods. If they are cruising around smoothly, they could be little flatworms (that are probably harmless to your tank inhabitants) - some of the small flatworms move surprisingly fast. Or they could be some sort of small polychete worm. Or they could be......

There are numerous possibilities, depending on the details of what they look like.

I agree with some sort of copepod. My Mandarin pics at them on the glass all the time.

I had a ton of what you are describing too, also coepods. If you don't have any smaller fish then they don't have a predator, so they can breed in abundance. My tank was getting quite covered with them until I got a clownfish, then they all dissapeared and he got fat.
