what should i do?


i'm going to upgrade the MH form 175W 20000K to 250W 6500K. should i raise the lighting up then slowly move it back down again. or just kepp the same high?now the canopy hang 10" off the water.

Yeah, you'll want to acclimate your corals to the light intesity.

You are going to a blub that is going to have a very yellow look to it. Unless that is your goal you might be happier with 10K Ushios. The best way to acclimate for the bulb change is to use plastic eggcrate and fiberglass window screen over the top of your tank and continue your full lighting period.

i get 4 VHO actinics on the side for color. i never have a 6500K before. just want to try them out.

In the picture it doesn't look bad, but in real life it made me cringe, 250w 6500k bulbs:

thx for the pics. i think i will stay with 250W 6500K for most the time. turn on the 20KK with ppl over or i want to take pic.

I personally would steerr away from the 6500k too but that is just me

HA... I have a LMB (yours actually) the austera and the green milie are doing great and encrusting the plug already.
-I might have to try an "experiment" with the austera- Think I have been reading to much on the GARF site.
