very cool seahorse pics

I was working on the computer when I took a moment to look at the seahorse tank. One of the males was strutting his stuff by inflating and then deflating his pouch. Next thing I knew he was next to one of the females, arching his back and pushing his pouch opening towards her. I turned to grab the camera and when I looked back they were separated but you could see some of the eggs she transferred hanging outside of the male's pouch. He began swimming around while arching and flexing his back. As I was taking the pics I could see he was some how pulling the eggs into his pouch. As you look at the pics you can see fewer and fewer eggs in each one.

This all took place in maybe 90 secs - 2 minutes. First time I have ever seen it in the year I have had the seahorses. Not sure what I am going to do as far as trying to raise them or not. From what I read it sounds like a lot of work.

Nice Ken! Lots of work from what I read on them.....but honestly how rewarding would that be? Husbandry of such things is a huge responsibility with tasks every few hours and such. Good luck if you go that route......with this Nano revolution I am guessing you could get homes for them easily right here in the club.

TOTALLY AWESOME! Thank you for sharing. I love seahorses. Looks like you know what you are doing... he looks so healthy. Can't wait to see more, esp. when you get some babies.
