UV Sterilizer question

Can I use the water from my overflow that goes to the sump to first go through the sterilizer or should that be a different system all on its own. I have exehisting plumbing that I wanted to put the sterilizer in line but didnt know if this is the right process or not. Any help would be appreciated.

IME, UV is usually added after a pump, either in a return line, closed loop, or other similar format. Not sure what the side effects of putting this in an overflow line would be...might work just fine there too.

Depends on the size as you need to know what GPH the sterilizer can handle. My sump has 2 parts to it, so I run a MJ in the 1st part and through the sterilizer and dump it into the 2nd section at a slow rate, prolly about 80gph, maybe less.

Normally, you want to have clean water go through UV sterillizer and you did not need to clean your sterillizer very often. The recommended way is to run you water through your filter first and then go through your sterillizer.
