Tri-color Acro is a Tri-color again...
My tri- color acro is finally starting to get its colors back again after a bout with the red bugs. I believe more flow has been a major factor in getting its health back...

Tex-
so did you actually get rid of the red bugs? Did everyone else get rid of them? If I recall it was going around... and around... and around...

Funny Derek...
Trodder, I still have the red bugs and you can see them every now and then, but they don't seem to affect the corals anymore. More flow, healthier corals, etc I have no idea what to attribute the comeback to..

TLC, perhaps?
I know my corals perked up right after I started kissing them goodnight. Why is my face numb???
Seriously, I agree that more flow seems to help the corals vs. bugs.
I have the bugs on a few colonies that never could tolerate them. With considerably more flow in the new tank, the bugs don't seem to affect the corals at all other than the occassional mucus release. As for that mucus, I have also noticed several instances where a few bugs appeared to be trapped and immobile in the mucus. Perhaps the flow encourages the coral to release mucus because it can detect that this mucus will be easily carried away vs. sitting on the coral for lengths of time. Have you noticed this at all, Greg? I see it happen about once or twice a week and it lasts about an hour...

I can't honestly say that I have seen them secrete mucus. Possible that they do it while I am gone, etc though...
I do know that there a few bugs (3-10?) on the tri-color but they don't affect it at all...

Graham, no matter what your .sig says, I think you're on to something.
Greg, your tank, btw, looks awesome.

Derek,
It is coming along, but looks empty without your corals on the bottom. You better take real good care of my avatar. I fathered that coral for what, 6-7 months...hehe
I will have frags soon of the tri-color also.

One of the first things your wife said when I picked them out was, "Wow, we have room for a lot more corals." She said she didn't mind if I shared that with you.
Speaking of which, I think I may break a large frag off the big colony and sell/split up the rest for charity (my favorite one--the 220g fund). I'll prolly donate some to the Reefmania.net in some way, shape, or form. OOHHH, I have some ideas to run past you...will try and call you tomorrow.
Derek
