Oooh Aptaisia. I like the stuff on pic 3 on 1st post. I've got a very little bunch starting to grow, I'd like more, I think it's purty.

Those are GSP(green star polyps). They will start spreading fast enough. They look pretty cool when they coat branching LR like it is on.

Looking good. Everything looks pretty happy for being just moved.

Aptaisia I believe. Not good. Peppermint shrimp or Joes Juice will take care of it.

No, altho they will not always eat the aptaisia. Joes Juice can work, but its tricky. IME

I had a bunch, well still kinda do altho not nearly as bad as before. What I did was turn off the current in my tank for 3-4 days. I dropped in a airstone in 1" below the surface of the water so my fish, coal, inverts, etc... Were getting some oxygen without creating too much current. Waitied till the 4th day, fed them Joe's Juice, waited a day. Then syphoned them out.

The Joe's Juice I find doesn't kill them for good, just for a week. But, it after the current is off the feet loosen, they are hungry and eat the JJ, "die" and a day later are really easy to syphon out.

So far that is the only method out of dosens that has worked for me to rid aptaisia.

Pain in the ASS, but it worked and now my zoo's are open and smilling again!

You can inject them with regular Kalk. Just mix it as thick as you can and inject them with it..

60? oceanic so I am not exactly sure, but It is about the same size as a 55.
I will try the kalk Solution seems easy enough.
They don't bother me much but I don't want them taking over.

Much like aptasia, letting the mushrooms grow on your main LR structures will become a plague in no time as well. When they overrun and start to damage other corals and/or looking for room for other corals most likely will have to try and sell/trade the rock in and just buy more LR.

Best to keep the mushrooms confined to a rock away from the main structure but you will learn that soon enough.....
