Feed some food to the tank in front of a powerhead, and have the food directed into your net. Hopefully the fish will come up to feed on the food, and you'll be able to catch him. I was able to catch a purple tang this way, but my flame angel was too skittish to catch this way, although I bet that if I did this over and over I'd be able to catch him...

Go buy a koi net that is 12" and feed the tank and catch all of your fish.

I once had to snatch up a pygmy angel also, a C. flavicauda. It took quite a while to give the net idea up, because I had it in there a few times.
Tried to hook it, got the clown twice instead.
Trap it...lol

Finally, I removed 2/3 of the rock, darkened the room, and put new batteries in the Maglight. Then I hit the lights, blinded the fish with the Maglight, and caught it by hand.

Just what you wanted to hear, right?

hehehe

i like the sound of the shotgun idea..hehe....from my experiences, just time and patience, although I seem to run out of both, is all it takes to catch a fish. I've had to work at it several times a day for a few days, but eventually you'll get it.

How big of a tank, and approx how much LR do you have?

You may need to remove rock, the Pygmys are clever little bastids.

Here is a thread with pics of his tank. http://www.thereeftank.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=39706
Just remember some of those BB are going to want to bounce off of the water if you decide to use your shotgun.
