Started a New Frag/Propagation tank

I had a 5.5 gal laying around so I decided to start up a prop tank to keep and grow my frags in. I split off a few pieces of my zoo colony and cut up a few mushrooms. I made my own diy lighting. 4 x 19w 6500k and one 36 w antinic. I picked up the 19w curly’s at Home depot a while back.

I received my shipment from Dr's Foster Smith today. A new AquaFuge and a maxi-jet 1200. The only problem I ran into is getting the diy spray bar to fit behind the refugiums outlet. I markered over the pvc (faz would be proud) and sent it through the dishwasher w/o soap a few times. I should have stopped at one cycle because my bar was a slight bow in it after the second . I hope to be at the meeting in a few weeks with some frags in hand

It looks like the prop tank isn't connected to the main tank. Thats why the you're adding the fuge. Right?
If thats the case, some live rocks would help with tank stability I would think. Wouldn't look bad either. It would give you a few levels at least, so you could fit more corals it there, instead of side by side stinging each other.
I imagine you'll be doing waterchanges from the big tank right? Maybe a 50/50% mix of fresh and old SW. Thats what I do for my 20gH zoa/ric tank, basically an un-connect prop tank, w/o the eggcrate. Pendant, heater, closed loop, thats it.

Jive Turkey: Both tanks are seperate. I had a moded out AC500 for a fuge on my old 20h for 1 year and then put it on the 29 and it works great, but i wanted to free up some space in my tank so i decided to upgrade to a AquaFuge. I moved my lr/ls and macro from my old ac500 to the new fuge. I have some mangroves on order and they should be here today or tomorrow. The prop tank will always be seperate. I always do a 10% water change every 2 weeks on the 29. I'm, not sue if i'll add any levels in the prop tank. I wouldn't put anything that would sting another too close together. If the prop tank takes off i'll upgrade it to my 10 or 20.
