Some new pics of the seahorse tank
So far so good. Everything is growing and looking nice doing a 20% water changes every 2 weeks. We feed the tank 2-3 times a day a mixture of frozen mysis, brine and cyclop.

as a fellow seahorser.. cool.
the big reef people just don't get it... low flow? not alot of light? they just _don't_ understand why we want fish that sit around all day... they need color, and flow, and lights...
how many horses do you have? what are your tankmates?
I'm going to get a Jawfish for my piddly 30-ish gallon hex, to go with my three, and I picked up some corals from Skipponator today that are horse friendly-hes got lots of shrooms and zoos, and xenia... I got a little of each.

ummm, jawfish, some gobies... not a heck of a lot...
heres a good list of tankmates:
http://www.seahorse.org/library/arti...ankmates.shtml
and they can't be in high flow... at all. I have my skimmer (which stays off most of the time, due to microbubbles) and a maxi 600. thats half clogged with algae. Thats all folks. some people can do a little more, but not much. and it takes them 20 minutes to feed, in one sitting... I feed mine out of a feeding dish heres a pic: http://jschmidt657.photosite.com/Alb...R1_037_17.html
a little more difficult than normal reef fish, plus, the feedings are, well, alot more and messier. I thought of a comparison earlier today: one seahorse =the output of two damsels of the same size.

I have 2 pairs of Reidi, pair of young clowns, and a pair of what Ed at Ocean Devotions called blue eyed cardinal fish. I was thinking of adding pipefish but I dont want to deal with tryng to get them to eat frozen foods.
This is a change in thinking from my reef tank. But with being a reefer at heart I couldnt have a second tank without some corals in it. So far it is leathers, zoos, pipeorgan, various mushrooms, gorgs, and a sun coral.

2 times a day is fine too... (come on now, I gotta work on converts here)
if you have lots of LR, and pods, 1 time a day will also work. which reminds me, its feedin time here.
