Some 40 Gallon Breeder Pics

Some pictures I took today of my 40 gallon breeder. Stucky_T might recognize some of the corals from his pre-build fragathon last summer.

Tank looks beautifull. I would be interested in a trade for that blue/green stag. That thing looks killer. I have a frag tank full of sps.

Thanks Mary...That green stag is a cool coral. It looks almost metalic blue-green in person. It was a pleasant surprise seeing as it was brown when I first put it in. I'll certainly keep you in mind when I feel the need to prune!

I think I counted 9 fish in your tank, are you having any problems keeping your nitrates down or do you have a huge skimmer for your tank? What are the tank specs, if you dont mind? It looks good, that is why I am wondering? I dont have that many fish in my 75 but wouldnt mind adding 1-2 more if possible.

The bio-load is pretty heavy for a 40 gallon, but I do like the look.

2 firefish
1 Yellow Tang
2 Maroon Clowns
1 Six Line wrass
5 blue green chromis

About your question...To be honest I haven't checked my nitrates in a long time. Knock on wood, I haven't had any obvious reason to do it because things have appeared to be pretty stable. I do have an ~18 gallon refugium with a bunch of chaeto and live rock rubble that may have an impact. As for a skimmer, just an Aqua C Remora. I do 6 to 7 gallon water change every week and a half or so.
