Reactor media

What do most people use for calcium reactor media? Is it alright to use just crushed coral (like aragonite substrate) or should you buy media specific for calcium reactors?

I use ARM. Allthought the next time around I am going to try something different.

This is one of those areas where I think it's mostly perception.

I tried ARM and also just the Geo-marine crush coral grade of Carib-sea. I never saw any visual evidence ( such as algae outbreaks or anything ) in my 300g that suggested that the regular ole' Geo-marine crushed coral wasn't as good. So I continued to use the Geo-marine for over 5 years.
