Product Review- 2 fold

running a Seio 1500 off my reefkeeper on a 10 min cycle. seems ok but makes a little noise when it starts up again. May extend that so that I can eliminate too many cycles over the life of the pump.

also grabbed a replacement quad PC bulb 96 W. Made by Sunpaq. Really nice bulb, makes all the colors pop. PC's degrade over time but this is a really nice bright PC bulb much better than the original bulb from coralvue IMO.

I have heard of problems with the seio's when using an on off mode, but do not know from experience.

The only problem I have with the quad bulbs is that you are wasting most of the light put out by the tops and sides of the bulb. In otherwords, the light restrikes the bulb to much because of how close the tubes are. Make sense?

RIO's

Despite the debates on Rio/Seio pumps, I like them and they are good relatively cheap pumps. However, ##1 rule with any Rio is do NOT put them on any kind of wavemaker or timer of any sort. They should be on or off, or you are asking for PROBLEMS

I have it on 120 minute cycle, you think that would be a problem? I figured that is only 12 on/off cycles per 24 hours. I sure hope they put out a controller for these soon.
