Pair of Blue Throat Trigger

Does anyone have these in a Reef tank? Do they have any problems with them and Clams, LPS, SPS or snails and shrimp? I know they say you can feed clam pieces to them but would they attack a live clam?

Care needs to be taken with ornamental shrimp etc as they have been known to bug them. fficeffice" />>>

i would talk to bob from reef mania. he has a beautiful blue throat trigger that redoes his rock work a little. but i dont think the trigger affects any corals or inverts. im not sure if bob has any clams though.
also jeffie might be one to talk to. he has alot of different triggers in his systems. some frenedly (takes your finger off, frinedly) and some not as friendly.

I am not as worried about shrimp as I can take a chance with them. It is the corals and clams I don't really want to take a chance with.

Thanks Scott,
So if Jeffie or Bob see this can you please chime in. Otherwise I will just PM some more questions?

Secure everything and they will be just fine. I hope you get a pair as they are beautiful, rewarding fish to have. I do nor have any clams though so mayve there is something there I am not sure of.

Bluethroats will be fine. They are planktivores. They should not bother anything in your reef.

Blue throats are cool, JG24 has one and it has been a model citizen as far as I know. I just picked up a pink tail today and seems to be a pretty cool fish. It was grunting like a constipated 90 year old man when I put it in the tank.

I just added a BlueThroat female tonight. Lights were out, so hopefully she'll be good tomorrow.

As for the afore mentioned male I have, he's pretty cool. He is a great tank member. Thusfar he has only moved around some empty frag plugs. It's pretty funny, he takes them right out of the frag station.

He eats like a pig. Pretty much eats everthing put in the tank. Flake, mysis, krill, brine, pellets.

A cool fish for sure.

Thats awesome. I had a clown trigger and I decided to go reef. I just seem to miss his character to much so I was thinking of getting something a little more reef safe. Might have to look into it more with all the positive comments.
