one of my best friend's bands-Dear Machine,-is holding their cd release party this friday night (Aug 26th) at the fine line and it is guaranteed to be an awesome show!
last year (with the name "the humans") these guys won the basilica block party battle of the bands and opened up the friday night set for the honeydogs, OAR and counting crows. recently they've been played on The Current (89.3 FM), and featured on kare 11's morning show-promoting the recent music for life concert series-fighting AIDS. the new album was also reviewed in the pulse magazine and jason (my boy) is interviewed in the latest onion magazine.
music starts at 9-doors at 8. Adam Levy of the Honeydogs will kick off the evening at 9. Another really solid local band-Chris Koza Band will follow with Dear Machine set to hit the stage around 11-11:30. All of the bands are on the mellower side of rock but REALLY know how to cut loose. Aside from the music Jerry and Viva of public access tv fame will emcee the evening, and i've been guaranteed there will be plenty of other tomfoolery and skull duggery. Speaking as objectively as I can-this is a kick&#$ lineup of bands! Think of it as your opportunity to see a star in the making-I'm even more confident in this prediction than my prediction that daunte will be the nfl mvp-AND i'm feeling pretty good about that! there is a $7 cover i believe-but i'll buy ya a beer AND guarantee you won't be disappointed! this WILL be their biggest BADDEST show eva!
if you visit their website at
http://www.dearmachine.com/ you can listen to their jams and get an idea what they're about...
SO...if you don't have other plans or you're SO intruiged you change them i/we would love to see you at the fine line
