OT: Sleep!

Do you sleep?

It's 11:48 and there are 38 people online in TCMAS alone!

It's been a couple months sense I've been online, but I do not recall seing this many people online at this time.... I'm feeling left out

Anyone tried the new bottled Bud? (Mods mod away if needed!)

Nope we don't sleep here at TCMAS. Lets turn this into a contest. Let's see who can be the last to post on this thread. Contest ends say 6:00am and you cannot sleep and then wake and post.

Body and mind doesn't really recieve any benefit from sleep beyond 5 to 6 hours. There's a variance for exactly how much each individual requires but the standard 8 hours is essentialy an indulgence of at least two hours for the brain, akin to opiates or other pleasurable stimulus that doesn't do anything short of being a treat.

Overly short sleep periods 2 or 3 hours, etc. for any sustained periods are very dangerous. The big risk is if that subject is allowed to drive or handle anything dangerous where one must be attentive. What ends up happening is the person starts to have microsleeps. The brain literally goes to sleep for a few seconds while the person is driving or doing whatever. Think the person you were talking to just wasn't paying attention? They might actually have been sleeping for a couple seconds

Think of how much more you could get done with an extra 730+ hours per year, or 58,440 extra hours in the average lifetime. It's free time too.

little ones??? ha!!! It was when i had little ones that I could actually sleep. At least then I was attempting to go to sleep for a a 1/2 hour here and an hour there etc... Now they are 8 & 4 and I get no sleep on most days. As far as sleep for 4-5 hours having little or no benefit beyond that is terribly not true!!! The absolute minimum anyone should consider if they can help it is 6 hours. However up to 10 hours is most beneficial... anything beyond that offers no benefit. For me I would rather not waste too many hours of my life sleeping so I only take about 10 hours one day a week if I can (usually can't) and some other days 7... but most days I only get 3 or 4 hours.

I have a 5 year old and an 18 month old, so I spend most of my day running Brock around to his activities, and school and stuff, so as much as I would love to nap when Sky does, I really need to do the housework at that time
