That is awesome.
I figued he'd have props hidden somewhere, but making it an actual jet engine is the icing on the cake.

You have to have a lic. to fly jet ones they are so cool.I have a freind that just finished the same scale as that of a B-17 with the four moters!I think it uses 8 or 9 channles! They are so awsome!Same price of a middle class car.

That's incredible!!! If that thing yardsales at that speed it's all over I was into RC Helis for a couple of years but at $100.00 + to fix after a crash it started getting cancerous Then again this SPS hobby is just as bad if not worse!! Cool thing about the helis is, if you're good you can hover and fly inverted P.S. I never got good!!

I did the RC planes for a while. No jets though. My last one before I left that hobby was a 1/3 scale Cap 232. With a 120" wingspan and 80cc gas engine. had enough power to go "vertical" for ever.

BTW skip do you know there is a flying club in Bemidji? They have a field about halfway between Bemidji and Cass Lake just off of highway2. I have flown and drank with them on a couple occasions. BTW never at the same time...

I got into micro heli's a few years back but a friend of mine flies jets. There a riot. They can fly 200 mph plus so you stand at the flying field wip your head left then right then left as the thing flies by. Its basically a high speed tennies match.

Ya I know there is a club, seen them at the waterfront a few times with their float planes, pretty cool. My in-laws live in Crookston and I've thought about getting a plane to fly out there, but I know I'd crash it, so I have been thinking about a Tmaxx for around the house.

no license needed to fly an r/c airplane with a microjet. Some fields will not let you fly if you dont have a current ama license though.
Boy just looking at that tomcat......u think some of u have alot of money in your tanks? That baby is scratch built!
ive been flying for about 8 years and have spent about 4 grand in the hobby...I love it but cant afford it now

My dad use to do planes, we still have them. But I like the trucks, at one point we had 11 different trucks and buggies (1/8, 1/10 scale, gas & electric). I think we are down to 6 now.

That is very cool, I have always been interested in R/C planes, helos, trucks, etc..., but never had any. My plan now is to wait until my son is old enough, then see if he is interested.

Done boats, cars and Planes. Boats and cars were to two dimensional for me so I got into planes. Haven't flown rc in a couple of years. I have a j-3 cub on floats in the garage that I haven't finished yet. Probally won't fly it just hang it up. Gets frustrating when you spend 40-80 hours building a plane and go fly it a couple of times and you have a radio failure and it barrels into the ground at 65mph and all you can do is watch. The jets are pretty wild and are not easy to fly, Hence the reason you need a license to basically control a minature missle. Some of those jets can run up to $20,000 with all the equiptment. I have flown them on a sim that Great planes puts out and the only real difference from a normal two stroke or four stroke glow engine is speed and stability. They are extremely touchy on the controls and go like hell. The controls aren't any different than a normal RC controller for planes just more channels for flaps, gear, brakes, speed brakes, etc.
