Opinions wanted:(
Well I got them again. Yup them dam little red bugs I almost expected it in the stocking process. I was not even the one to notice them. I guess I trusted all the pieces I have put in my tank and was not looking close enough.
Any way I only have a few more pieces to add and have allready lined up a few of those. Question is should I treat now and dip any other corals I add or should I hold off a month and do the whole system once I get them??

I guess if you can see the light at the end of the "stocking tunnel" in a month, I would wait. No need to do all of this again in a month once parinoia kicks in.

I would wait and treat the whole tank at once.

If you don't have any inverts (crabs) in your tank yet, I would give it one dose now. If you do have inverts, I would wait until you are done adding and treat then.
After that, treat every coral you receive as if it had them.

I am looking into my crystal ball, and I see all of us quarantining corals in the near future, a practice that is not very common here in the present. Something that I think all of us should seriously think about, I for one started doing this just recently.

I think at least a dip treatment... I "intend" to get a few more pieces that I really want then try to be content watching my full tank growout. I think the only one I have seen stick to his guns on this so far has been Graham.
Another question... The frag tank I just built will be totally able to be turned off the main system. The water from this tank will be run to the skimmer and sump which is 12' below the main tank. If all new additions were shut off and treated in this tank then turned back to the main after the treatments. Do you think they could still get to the main tank?

Vert, I think you'd be safe if you isolated your frag tank with new arrivals. After the first treatment, I would think it would be highly unlikely to have them reinfect your whole system. I think I need to make some changes in the plumbing to my 40br so I can have it better isolated from the system if need be.
I had someone ask me the price to take my whole system out of my house, and I told them a number with a few zeros after it, and they started laughing until they saw I wasn't smiling.
Mark, where you been?

oops, sorry, I got your phone message last week but... not enough hours in the day recently . I will send you a pm shortly. I was kind of wondering, besides more stability and less equipment needed, why you did tie into your main system for your frag tank.
As far as quarantining new corals, I think it is almost a must now for acro's because of the lrb's and the acro eating flatworms. A dip for newly acquired acro's with interceptor IMO probably is not going to rid them unless the dip is at least 4 hours.
The flatworms are the little b*strds I would be more worried about.

If you've got money for crabs or feel like picking them out of your tank for 2 or 3 days I would dose now The longer those little $@$@! stay on a coral the longer that coral is under stress. I wouldn't let my dog carry woodticks around for weeks. (Just my thought/ opinion though).....I don't think you need to do the 3 treatment thing though. I dosed my whole setup with one dose and haven't seen a LRB since. Nuked a peanut butter jar full of crabs though I couldn't pick out On the flip side I've seen noticeable color changes in a lot of the SPS I tend to keep good eyes on.
As far as the quarantine tank you'll be fine once you treat the corals in your treatment tank and they are LRB free. Borneman's had a post on a forum somewhere saying the LRB's woudln't last very long without an SPS host to colonize. Personally, I wouldn't worry about them free floating or materializing from untreated water somewhere once every coral has been treated. On top of that you're running ozone and UV if I remember right so they wouldn't last long free balling it anyway

Troy,
Do all three treatments, or else they will come back. Trust me on this one...
Mark, I tied them together for more stability and less equipment needs.

The 75 is no longer in my possession, and the floor is also tiled and grouted.
I have a 10 or 20g that I can set up for a QT if need be.
