Question

opinion

picking up the goby and angel from wolfgang tonight or tomorrow. Still have ick on chevron, other tang looks good. clowns look good. everyone eating great. lost the wrass i think, went mia a few days ago. Should i q and watch chevron, or toss them in the tank. no uv as of yet. the one i will get if i get one is 340 and a pump. same one grahm(sp) has on his 120. filter for the q is on the 29. had a landslide so started cooking rock last night. took 1/3 of the rock out. ran sponge, floss, and carbon in a whisper filter. still have the aqua clear 200 or so i could use, need to buy a sponge for it. looking for a quick thought is all. my thought is put them in the main tank. if they get ick and do poorly, then purchase the uv and go from there. sounds back-wards but spend 400 for a 30 fish or 30 test to need to spend 400.

thanks so much for everything,
Joel

the move will probably stress out the new fish so there is a good chance if you have ich in your tank, that they could get it. Kinda up to you on what you want to do. If you have the space to Q the cheveron, I would do that, but if it is gonna cost you more than the cost of the new fish, then I would just take my chances I guess. Best of luck to you Joel.

P.S. You wanna come over and fix my car? It broke down again Monday... POS!!!! lol.

I once cured a Purple Tang of ick by soaking its food in garlic guard before I fed him. It took a couple of weeks but it helped.

Your tank has active ICH......best bet is to QT the new fish.
what type of angel are you getting?
angel and tang will go at it, and that could be the end of your tang.
It could also stress the angel to the point of getting ICH.
Or nothing could happen and everyone will get along and live happily ever after.

I went to go to work monday and there was about a quart of oil sitting on the ground. We think it is the rear main seal, and possibly the oil pan? Hopefully, Dustin will get around to looking at it tonight, but I doubt it cause we have to run to frogbones at some point.

The only way to get rid of the ICH is to treat all the fish in another tank for 4-6 weeks with copper and let the display tank sit fishless for 6 weeks. All the Ich will die off in the display tank with no host to survive on. It is a pain in the arse but you will be donw with it and won't ever have to worry about ich again in the future unless you bring a infected fish into the display. Garlic will build the immune system of the fish but will not cure the problem. The Ich will allways be there unless it is either starved out of the tank with no fish or treated with copper. And copper in the display is a big no no.
