One Question

I am going to be taking my tank down to drill it and I was thinking of getting new sand I have some argonite now but was thinking of getting some southdown or something like that would I have to let it cycle before I could put my fish and corals back in there? I am also cooking about 2/3 of my rocks now and I am going to cook the other stuff soon. but just wondering on the whole cycle thing again.

No, new sand should not make it cycle as long as it is clean. The safest bet though would be to use some in combination with a bag of Arag-alive ( or whatever the carib-sea seeded stuff is called ).

I'd add it first before the water and LR so that it doesn't cloud everything up. Doesn't hurt anything but you won't be able to see very well until it's cleared if you add water first. Put the new sand in, then the LR ( makes easier to aquascape when no water in the tank ) last add water. Use a dinner plate or something to deflect the water to minimize the cloudiness.
