Not Reef Related - computers
Does anyone know where and when the next electronic liquidation sale is in the Cities?
They just had one this weekend but, I thought I heard, from 93.X, that there is another one coming up soon.

I think the one this weekend is at the Nothtowm mall, but don't quote me. I think it is in the old Mervin's or something like that.

From what I remember hearing is you could find better deals at best buy if you were looking for a "new computer" but if you are looking for a p3 or p2 you might find something decent.

What exactly are you trying to find/buy? Are you building a new machine or are you trying to fix one that has some hardware issues?
On a side note, my secondary machine just blue screened on me? I really hate when that happens, hopefully I won't have to reload the operating system.

I feel your pain. I had to reload xp a few weeks ago, my computer crashed all because the stupid ps2 port on the motherboard went bad. Geek Squad says "You need a new motherboard" I say "If it is just the port that is bad cant I just get a $15 dollar usb mouse?" Hence fourth, 15 dollars later I have no issues, except that the port is bad.

my emachine took a digger! i think it's the processor. i have someone looking at it. since it's an emachine, i don't think there is much i can do.
i would like to build my own. i have parts, etc. to start with and am looking for anything that i can build a big and better one than i had.
since i'm a graphics freak, i need lots of room and lots of power. plus, i'm always on the net and have many windows open at one time -surfing freak too. giggle
jeez... i just realized i'm a total freak! reef keeping, graphics, computers, electronics... list goes on and on. maybe 'I' need help more than the computer does.

those electronics things in town are lame, they charge you $5-10 to get in the door for a flee market type of a set up.
you are better off going to bestbuy or circuitcity and buying one new.

I agree with Jerry. You might want to check out Comp USA while you are at it.

Like sizzler mentioned....general nanosystems is a good place.
you can pick the parts you want and they assemble it for you on the spot if they have everything in stock.

I saw the commercial on TV a couple of times but forgot where and what time.
I think it's a event that's organized by these guys, Blue Star Productions,
but I could be wrong.
Link to their schedule:

http://www.supercomputersale.com/Loc...nneapolis.html
Once a year, they have a computer sale at the Minnesota Stat Fair. I've
been to a couple of them. Honestly, I've not been impress with the selection
that's available. Usually most of the things brought in by the different vendors are
discontinue OEM stuffs, Old PC games, or repackage open store returns.
If you are building your dream machine, I would buy all the parts like Motherboard, CPU, and Graphics card new from a internet vendor and get the HD and casing local either from Best Buy or compUSA. This way you save a little and know that you are buying retail brands which are often better made then OEM.
Site that I use to get my stuff a couple of times:
