Contact Epidemic he has a IC 660 brand new for 150. with harness. You can run up to 16' of bulbs with that so 4 bulbs at 4 feet or actually I think they run like 46.5 plus the end caps

if your tank is 48" you should be fine with one 660, running 4 bulbs.

Are there any special end caps I need or just ones that are for VHO's??

So all I will need are the Bulbs (like 2 white and 2 Actinic)?? Ice Cap 660 ballest, end caps, and to build my canopy for them?is that correct?

also a reflector, if you want, I guess you could go without. As far as what arrangement of bulbs, you can do it however you choose, and with vho there are a few differnt types of actinics, and whites, you can mix and match to find the color scheme that you like. But 2 white and 2 actinic is always a good choice.

PM: tito for used 660 with end-caps, was FS not to long ago.(he may be keeping it?)
PM: Epidemic....for new 660.
Id start a new post.....looking for used 660 ballast.
URI bulbs have reflectors in them.....no need for more.
buy quality stuff (new if you can)...it pays off in the long run.

Few pieces of IMO advice.
Slow down. Read alot. have a full plan before you get going.

As far as lighting goes, everything will work. The best two options are t5 and MH or a combination of both. T5 are the most modern and energy conservitave opton. MH are going to give a more natural look and effect because of their fixed point.

Go look at some of our tanks and see which one fits you. Once you decide, don't look back because they ALL work

It is exciting stuff, but take your time!

Nice to see you on here Garrett. I've got a IC 660 running both my 6' bulbs. That's all tentavly taken, but I do have spare endcaps, might be able to get you going. If you don't want to shell the $ for IC, get a URI A-4, same thing basically. How is the Frogspawn doing?

Yea pretty much the t5 are real skinny bulbs so you can fit more in the hood.
