Well I got the membership application, thanks. Just want to clarify on meeting notification for us new guys. How will we know the location and time of the meeting? Will we be emailed with the members, will it be posted here in the open forum? Thanks in advance.

Until you become an official member, it is your responsiblity to get info on the meetings. The website will be the main place to get info on the next meeting and how to email the coordinator for a details map. There is no email distribution for guests.

Once you become a member you get email announcements.

Several reasons,

the email distribution gets cluttered with people who have shown some type of interest at some point but have never attended. Hidding behind an email address ( especially hotmail/yahoo etc. ) we don't know anything about them.

Since we meet at peoples houses and not a public place we want to limit what info we send to strangers over the internet the best we can.

When you become a member that at least ensures us that we have met you at least once. While that isn't much to base ones character from it at least is something.

I agree wholeheartdly, I dislike people hiding behind email addressses, but some have legit reasons, lessen the chance of spam intheir actual account, etc. but I like to know WHO I am emailing to - now I do, I'm emailing a trusted member of TCMAS.

secondly...

I was wondering maybe can make a suggestion, also have a club feature, put your name on a list thats willing to help with someone's else tank, in case of a vacation ,emergency - and location, I can do like 15 miles radius of my home, and list what I have in my tank for holding, or have extra tanks to loan/borrow or hold on to the fishes, etc until your emergency has passed (ie: broken tank etc) and can return the items.

also, maybe can list - stuff like 'tend to have extra bucket of IO on hand, just pay for replacement cost - as sometimes emergency happens 11 pm at night, and stores are closed)

whatever, this might be tooo much, become like a store but ... smiles

Clyde, That's is exactly the kind of thing that the TCMAS members only section will provide. Be able to be more open with real names, phone numbers, and other roster info.

I am sure we will be discussing exactly what roster info to share ( in the members section ) as a topic at upcoming meetings to fine tune it to our needs and make sure we in agreement and comfortable with it.

more reason for me to actually finish up the application, but I'm still too busy to SIT down and WRITE

writing on a paper is almost a long lost art now, since I'm doing like 95 percent of my writing/calls/etc on the internet.
