New Mappa puffer
Hey Everyone,
With all the fun stuff going on in the members only section, I thought I would try and lighten the mood. At the RFC we recieved a new Mappa Puffer from Africa this morning that we got as a donation from UA. He is probably about 15 lbs. and very beautiful. He's hard to take pics of because he looks just black but if you google image search a mappa puffer you will see that he has amazing yellow scribble patterns all over him. The only thing that I am worried about is him getting along with our very large stars and stripes puffer that is about the same size as him, just a bit smaller. Also hopefully when Superman dives he'll return with all his fingers and toes. LOL! Might have to get him a chainmail suit for his birthday. I've already had 8 stitches from a puffer and I'd hate to see what this one could do to someone. Supposedly he is rather aggressive. We'll see. He is in the QT tank with a 12 inch sohal right now who is trying to show him who's boss. LOL! 1st pic is of him in 1 of our 200 gallon QT tanks and the 2nd is of him in a 30 gallon tote so you can get a good image of the actual size he is.....

I love puffers. I just put a 10" Guniea Fowl in my maintance account and he has the coolest personality. Awesome Jeffie!

I'll be diving on Wednesday, but the new Mappa won't be out of QT for a while. Sure will be interesting going into the tank for the first time with the big Mappa in the tank, we'll just see how aggressive he is, and if he has enough courage to take on SUPERMAN!

I have seen one of these before, they have a HUGE beak. I would not want to be on the receiving end of that bite. Good Luck.
