New Best book!

I have been scanning over "The Ref Aquarium" Delbeek/Sprung.
For all you noobs out there, get it! This is definitely the most updated book out there.
For all you experienced folks, this book touches subjects like no other book has before. The 650 page volume covers tons of subjects we have covered in threads here and over in RC. Even stuff as obscure ad DIY prop (tunzi style) maxijets.

Noobs, remember there is no one way to skin a cat. Knowing the different ways is important though. Be warned this thing is thick. If you like a quick outline, this should be your second book. But, if you like something that will get you some solid info to get your tank going right, make this your first book (if you have been lazy to get one so far.)

Experienced folks, turn in your old books and replace it with this one... for those nights the internet is down

HTH/IMO yada yada

Yes
and
Yes
The great thing about this book is it is really 670 pages of how to set up your aquarium. There is no waist of time on critter choice, which is best left to dedicated books IMO. I really like Corals by, Sprung as well, for a quick reference.
Chapters: (I changed the names so I don't have to explain what they are:

1 Aquarium Selection and Design
2 Live rock and sand
3 Plumbing and Electrical
4 Chemical stuff
5 Important chemical stuff (JK) Calcium Alk and PH Maintenance
6 Filtration
7 Water Motion
8 Lighting
9 Aquascaping
10 Food $ Feeding
11 Maintenance, Husbandry and Disease Issues

This is not some large print candy coated (though there are a great number of pics). The book is packed with fine print info. You can see why this is a best first book for folks setting up. One of the biggest issues facing our new friends, and I know I went through my self, is misguided purchases from the LFS.
How many threads a month end up with us all saying... "For GOODNESS SAKE, DRIIIIL IT MAN!!!!"? This is the first book that really covers these issues in a no nonsense way.

Of course the authors stand on the other side of the bare bottom-fence so that is a point against the book! Also they are affiliated with Two Little Fish, so some issues should be taken with a grain of salt.

OK need coffee now...

I am about one third of the way through. And although there is some repitition for experienced reefers ,there is still alot of good info and I am enjoying the read. Also it is the only new book of any significance lately.
